SREESANTH CRUSHED SRI LANKA

One of the greatest wicketkeepers India ever produced, Syed Kirmani has said in an interview:

“In my opinion, whatever little I saw Vinod Kambli looked more talented than Sachin Tendulkar and look at where Sachin has reached. I think it is the way you carry yourself and the discipline you imbibe. This is what has taken Sachin to great heights."

The same discipline what we expect from Santhakumaran Sree Santh. This talented pace bowler took 5 for 75 in Sri Lanka's first innings in the second Test in Kanpur to make a memorable comeback to the national team after 19 months away during which he made headlines more for his abrasive behaviour than his bowling.

Outside cricket, Sreesanth is a psychology student. Even then he is noted for his exuberant and emotional behaviour, especially whilst appealing for and celebrating wickets. But in the test against Sri Lanka, he looks like a symbol of silence. His achievement is highly remarkable as it came from batsmen’s paradise.

Hearty congratulations to Sree for your ssensational comeback

DRAVID REACHED THE 11,000 TEST RUNS

Rahul Dravid, batting stalwart, showed us once again why he is known as Mr. Consistent. He is in sparkling form in both 20-20 and ODI’s. But justice denied to this batsman of great caliber. Our blind selectors simply ignore this specialist batsman in the ODI series against Australia. They have no reasons for eliminating Dravid from ODI squad. In that series, the first down position became a gambling for Captain Dhoni. He experimented with Gambhir, Kotli and Raina, but the result was the same. In the last ODI against Australia, Indian batsmen failed to connect the swinging balls of Johnson.

The same scenario is repeated in the first test match against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad. Young Bowler Welegedara who was playing just his second Test, destroyed the top order with swinging deliveries. India was tottering at 32/4 but recovered to post their highest score on the first day of a test match with the masterly innings from the Wall. Yuvraj and Dhoni supported Dravid with their brilliant knocks of 68 and 110.

On stumps of First day, Dravid remains unbeaten on 177 runs (26 Fours, One Six, 251 balls) and he surpassed the 11,000 mark becoming the fifth-highest run-getter in Tests.

Now let’s hope for a Double century from this stylish stroke making batsman. Good Luck Rahul.
