Ind Vs Eng , INDIA CLINCHES THE ENGLAND SERIES BY 4-0

England is now looking for consolation wins as India clinches the one day series by 4-0. Like in the previous match, Duckworth-Lewis method shatters the hopes of England in this fourth one day also. The rain interrupted match reduced to just 22 overs and India scored 166 runs by the loss of four wickets. England's target was then revised to a stiff 198 off 22 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. But the tourists scored only 178 runs in the stipulated 22 overs.

Man-of-the-match Virender Sehwag hit three sixes and nine fours in his 57-ball 69 and
Yuvraj Singh made a 11-ball 25 not out with three sixes that helped the hosts reach 166-4 off 22 overs. During his knock, sehwag completed 6000 runs in the One Day format of the game and becomes the 6th Indian Batsman to do so. Sachin scored just 11 runs in his first one-day match in eight months. However, Gautam Gambhir, contributed 37-ball 40 with the help of seven fours.

While chasing the big target, Owais Shah's blitzkrieg helped England to maintain a good run rate. He smashed three sixes and nine fours in his 72 runs which came from just 48 balls. Flintoff and Sha added 82 of just eight overs for the fourth wicket. England's chance receded sharply when Shah and Flintoff fell in the space of seven runs and the tourists needed 37 off the last two overs with four wickets in hand.
But they could manage only 17 and India clinched the series against England with a 19-run victory


This was India's 700th One Day International out of which India won 335 and lost 331. India is the first country to achieve this landmark.
