Blitzkrieg from the Dashing Blaster –Virendra Sehwag

Viru, the real Dashing Blaster of Indian Cricket suffered a lot of criticism from every where in the cricketing arena about his poor batting performances in the recent periods. But a real Indian cricket fan still has belief in him. Once again the masterly innings of triple Century in Chennai against South Africa can not be described in words, it was a willow magic shown by this courageous batsman.

No one in World Cricket dares today to play a sexy six shot during the one hundred and nineties of their Innings. But Veeru, simply a symbol of brave, dares to hit a six even not only in the 190’s but also in 290’s. ie he never bothered about the records.
He simply plays his natural game even if he is not in form. This is the major attraction of most of the innings. He reached his double century in style, pulling Makhaya Ntini over the square-leg fence for six to move to 199 before taking three runs to long-on off the next delivery.

"It was phenomenal, simply exceptional batting. The range of shots that he played was terrific. He was in the zone, played 360 degrees. Of course it was a flat wicket, slightly on the slower side but he was creative. Standing at the other end it was almost like watching a highlights package”

This was the comment coming from the Wall “Rahul Dravid “after the partnership of unbroken 255 with Virendra Sehwag. When he reached 300 off 278 deliveries, Sehwag surpassed the previous fastest recorded triple ton from 362 balls by Australian Matthew Hayden against Zimbabwe in Perth in 2003-2004.

Sehwag’s score of 309 includes 42 boundaries and five sixes and this is his second triple century of his career. He had made 309 against Pakistan in Multan in 2004. No other Indian has achieved the feat even once. His 42 Boundaries in a Test innings is the second best ,only V.V.S Laxman hit 44 fours in his 281 against Australia.

The 29-year-old Indian opener joins Australian legend Don Bradman and West Indian Brian Lara as the only batsmen to have crossed the 300-run mark twice in their Test careers.
