Jason Krejza, Unforgettable Debut in Test Cricket

Indian batsmen are the experts of how to play the spin sensations. Shane Warne, Muthayya and even the Mendis suffered a lot from the attacking Indian batsmen. But now a little-known Australian spinner, Jason Krejza, playing in his first Test, joined the elite club of bowlers who have taken eight or more wickets in an innings.

The tall, strong spinner from Tasmania claimed the wickets of Virendra Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, V.V.S.Laxman, Saheer Khan, Amit Misra and Ishant Sarma. Krejza finished with 8 for 215 to become the third Australian bowler to claim eight wickets in his Test debut.

The debutant off-spinner Jason Krejza produced an astonishing spell in the post lunch session, snaring 5 wickets as India slipped from a commanding 422/5 to 441 all-out.

But Indians are happy with the fact that they scored half of their total runs from this off spinner's bowling. India scored 215 runs in his 43.5 overs which is also a record by a test debutant. He surpassed the record of Omari Banks, West Indian cricketer. During test debut, despite picking up three wickets, Omari Banks conceded 204 runs in 40 overs. Now with the performance of this test, Krejza holds the record for the most number of runs conceded by a Test debutant
