It is raining of Sixes and Fours. Sehwag and Gambhir started the celebration of runs. Sehwag smashed 3 sixes and 10 fours with a strike rate of 116.44 and scored 85 runs from just 73 balls. The only disappointing factor about his batting is that he could not convert his score into hundreds. On the other side, Gambhir still proved his consistency as opening batsman in both forms of the game. He scored 51 runs from 63 balls with 8 Fours. Both the openers fell to the spinner Samit Patel.
After these performances Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh Joined the elite group of sixes and fours. Raina hit 3 sixes in his innings of 43 runs. The only Indian disappointed with his bat in this high scoring batting track is Yousuf Patan. He went for a duck and let's expect 20-20 specials from him in the forthcoming matches. After his departure, Dhoni came.
Yuvraj completed his century from only 65 balls with 11 fours and 4 sixes. In the 48 th over, Dhoni was clean bowled by Steve Harmison. Captain scored 39 runs from 32 balls with 3 fours and one six. Rohit scored 11 runs from 8 balls.
India scored a mammoth total of 387/5 in the stipulated 50 overs.
But things were different when England was batting. They quickly lost 4 wickets in the opening session of the play. Saheer got 3 of them including the wickets of Ian Bell, Owais Shah and Andrew Flintoff. Flintoff could only score 4 runs. Then, came the brilliant batting performance of England Captain Kevin Peterson. He scored 63 runs from 56 balls which include 2 huge sixes.
