MUMABAI INDIANS BEAT CHENNAI SUPER KINGS IN THE FIRST MATCH OF IPL BY19 RUNS

MUMBAI INDIANS won the first match of IPL 2nd version at South Africa. After winning the toss, Dhoni of Chennai Super Kings decided to filed first. Sachin scored second IPL fifty from 49 balls with 7 fours. Jayasurya scored 26 runs.

It was Abhishek Nair who fired 35 runs from just 14 balls that helped Mumbai Indians to achieve their total to 165/7 in the stipulated 20 overs. He hit chennai's superstar Flintoff for 3 sixes in one over and Flntoff thus becomes the most expensive bowler for Chennai. i.e 44 from 4 overs.

Manpreet Gony took 2 wickets and Flintoff, Thushara, Joginder and Oram took one each.

Chennai lost their first wicket(Parthiv Patel) without adding any runs to the score board.Mathew Hayden scored 44(35 balls,6 Fours and One six) Flintoff-24(23 balls,2 Fours and One Six) and Dhoni 36(26 balls, One Four, Two Sixes) are the major contributors of Chennai Super Kings.

It was Lasith Malinga who took 3 wickets for just 15 runs made the victory for Mumbai Indians. Jaysurya took 2 wickets, Bravo and Harbhajan claimed one wicket each.

Sachin Tendulkar is the Man of the Match.
