SANJU SAMSON’S SENSATIONAL BATTING- RAJASTHAN ROYALS BEAT ROYAL CHALLENGERS BY FOUR WICKETS!

       In IPL-2012, he was mere a spectator but in this IPL every spectator enjoyed the sensational batting of Sanju Samson, the booming wicket keeper of Rajasthan Royals.

           The decision of Rahul to promote Samson to the first down position resulted in a sizzling knock. During his aggressive innings of 63 runs from 41 balls, he achieved another feat; he became the youngest player (Only 18years & 169days) to make an IPL 50. Samson’s knock was studded with 2 sixes and 7 fours.

     After winning the toss, Rajasthan decided to field first. As expected, Gayle started the fire works, but he could only score 34 runs. (16 balls). Rajasthan chased the target of 171 runs in 19.5 overs. Watson and Hodge made sure that Samson’s efforts did not go in waste. Watson scored 41 runs (from 31 balls) and Hodge scored 32 from 18 balls.

Sanju Samson was selected man of the match.

Interesting Facts:
In IPL, he was a member of Kolkata Knight Rider’s players pool in 2012, but he did not play any matches. In 2013, he signed for Rajasthan Royals. He made his IPL debut against Kings XI Punjab on April 13,2013 after the regular wicket keeper Dishant Yagnik failed to recover from injury. He impressed by taking a breathtaking catch to remove Rajagopal Sathish off the bowling off James Faulkner. He joined Ajinkya Rahane at the middle when his team was facing some anxious moments with the score at 79/4 in 12.5 overs.He scored a composed 27 runs off 23 deliveries and his unbroken partnership with Rahane for 47 runs made sure Rajastan Royals won the match with 4 balls to spare. The Hindu was effusive with its praise about his performance "The Kerala cricketer’s calm performance won him many admirers and he may prove to be one of the answers to Royals’ problems in the middle-order.”
