SOUTH AFRICA IN TOP SPOT IN ICC ODI RANKINGS, AUSTRALIA'S SUPREMACY ENDS

Finally, South Africa became the Number One ranked side in ODI cricket. Australia was definitely invincible in their home grounds and an Australian Tour will destroy the morale of every visitors. But that was an old story, the process had started, South Africa was certainly climbing up the graph while Australia was on their downward movement.

South Africa rested their key players like Makhaya Ntini, Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis in the final one day match. Mark Boucher was not available for that match due to injury problems. On the other side, Australia included Michael Clark and Nathan Bracken to clinch the fifth one day since they are not willing to give up their first rank spot in ICC ODI rankings. But South Africa made a splendid victory of 39 runs and won the One day series 4-1.

Australia's Weak Reserve Bench: The test and One Day Series proved that Australia is struggling with lack of talents. Australia could not find a better substitute for Gil Christ, McGrath, Shane Warne and Mathew Hayden. However look at the reserve bench of Indian Team; they even won the one day series in Sri Lanka in last year without having their key players like Sehwag and Sachin.

South Africa's achievement in this test and One Day series is that they produced well all rounders like Albie Morkel and Jean-Paul Duminy. Albie Morkel won the "Man of the Series" award for his brilliant batting and bowling display.

Australia's next adventure journey begins from February 1. Their New Zealand Tour will not be an easy one for Ponting and his team. Let's hope, India will move to Second Spot in ICC ODI rankings after Australia's New Zealand Tour.
