SEHWAG COMPLETES 7000 RUNS IN TEST MATCHES



The dashing Indian opener Virender Sehwag completed 7000 Test runs during his unbeaten knock of 97 on the second day of the third and final Test against Sri Lanka.

31-year-old Sehwag reached the milestone in his 79th Test. He equaled Garry Sobers’ record of fastest 7000 runs in terms of Tests at an average of 54.89.. The West Indian all rounder also completed his 7000 runs in 79th Test. Sehwag is the 38th batsman overall to have scored 7000 runs.

Sunil Gavaskar was the first Indian to complete 7000 runs in Test cricket.The other Indians in the list are Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly.

Sehwag also completed 1000 fours in test cricket during his knock of 97.
