INDIA LOST NUMBER 1 TEST RANKING! ENGLAND WON THIRD TEST BY AN INNINGS AND 242 RUNS.ENGLAND WON THIRD TEST BY AN INNINGS AND 242 RUNS.

The first series loss for India since 2008 and MS Dhoni's first series loss as captain. The series witnessed the collapse of much vaunted Indian batting lineup and revealed the real weakness of Indian bowling. Except Dravid and Dhoni, the top order of the Indian line up never showed the fighting spirit. Instead, the Indian Cricket Team was merely watching the fireworks of England.

In reply to the mammoth first innings score of England (710/7), India could only managed to score 244 runs in the second innings. Dhoni scored unbeaten 74 runs and Praveen Kumar’s fire works of 40 runs reduced the margin of defeat. He scored 40 runs from just 18 balls. (5 fours, 3 sixes.) Sachin got run out in a very unfortunate manner. A straight and low drive off MS Dhoni touched the finger tips of bowler Graeme Swann and went on to strike against the stumps at the other end and he was off his crease. He scored only 40 runs.

England convincingly snatched away the No. 1 Test ranking spot from India defeating them by an innings and 242-runs in the third Test at Edgbaston. India has been completely outplayed by England in this series. The two sides next meet on August 18 at the Kennington Oval in London.

Cook is the Man of the Match for his marathon innings and a career best score of 294.

On April 1,2011 the "ASIAN TRIBUNE" published my prediction as follows:-

"Though Cricket World cup final unpredictable, Dhoni will be the 2nd captain to lift it for India"
On July 5 I predicted that MS Dhoni's luck will drain and dwindle(damodarannumerology.blog.co.uk)
