The third test between India and Australia is ended in a literal tie. But the last moments of that match will always be there in the minds of all cricket lovers. The retiring moments of the great spin wizard and proud of India" Anil Kumble"

As a test captain, his controlled and matured response against the "Umpires played Sydney Test" (Man of the Match: Steve Buckner) shows his expertise in handling controversies. After that controversial match, Kumble said "Only One Team is played in the spirit of the game". Australians were humiliated by the Indian Captain's well targeted googly.

Anil Kumble, the leading wicket-taker for India in both Test and One Day forms of the game was appointed the captain of the Indian Test cricket team on 8 November 2007.
