RAIN OF LOSSES CONTINUES! ENGLAND BEAT INDIA BY 9 RUNS IN THE FIRST ODI

Finally England have won their first ODI match against India on Indian soil in 7 years. India lost the first ODI against England by 9 runs. The seven paper tigers of Indian batting once again  failed to chase the target of 325 on a placid and flat track.  The recent lost matches of India reveals one reality that Indian batsmen are afraid of playing against talented spinners. This time they failed to score against James Tredwell who  took 4 wickets conceding just 44 runs in the stipulated 10 overs.

What about the team selection of India for the ODI matches!. The second top scorer in the second ODI against Pakistan was left out for the third ODI against the same team. Only Dhoni will make such ridiculous decision and that decision itself is the result of a pre planned drama for avoiding  Sehwag from the ODI series against England.

What is the selection criteria for picking up a squad for the ODI's. Rohit Sarma and Kohli ; both these players were struggled to score runs in the ODI's, but there is no threat for their positions. The victim  is Sehwag and the Most aggressive batsman  in any form of the Cricket game  was expelled from the ODI squad. What is the role of  Ravindra Jadeja in Indian team? Is he a bowler/batsman/fielder? It will be a hilarious comedy if he is treated as an all rounder. How many matches had he saved for India as a batsman? I can't recollect any such innings from that youngster.

In the ODI against England, what India need was an explosive opening. Though the openers (Rahane &  Gambhir) produced 96 runs in 16.4 overs, their scoring rate is below 6 runs. That type of scoring will not help a team to chase a mammoth total of 325. If selectors will not apply the "perform or Perish" rule to all players without any discrimination,  Indian Cricket will never escape from the rain of losses .

Future Pen:
Dhoni targeted Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman. Some or other way he succeeded. The same strategy is applied to Sehwag and he will be the next candidate for the "Seniors  Elimination Package"of Dhoni. Another important thing is that many fans still believe Sachin's retirement  from ODI is the result of unwanted pressure from BCCI and the Captain of all time.
